Privacy Policy

For the PC Health & Fix app for Windows and the Home Tech Helper app for iPhone and Android.

Effective October 5, 2026

The short version

  • The apps don't have accounts, ads, analytics or tracking.
  • Health checks, fixes and the scam checker run on your own device.
  • NateFixesTech only gets information when you choose to send a help request, and you see everything before it's sent.
  • We never sell or share your information.

Who we are

The apps are made by NateFixesTech LLC, a computer and phone repair business in San Benito County, California.

What stays on your device

To work, the Windows app reads information about your PC, such as storage space, drive health, memory, Windows Update status, network status, startup apps and backup status. It keeps these on your PC only:

  • Results of health checks, fixes and maintenance
  • A log of what the app has done, and a log of any errors it ran into
  • Your settings, and the name and phone or email you type into the help form, so you don't have to type them again

These stay in the app's own storage on your PC and are removed when you uninstall the app. You can clear the activity log at any time from the Activity page.

The scam checker

When you paste a text message or email into "Is this message a scam?", it's checked right on your device. The message is never sent anywhere, never saved, and never seen by NateFixesTech. The Windows app's activity log records only the result (for example, "very likely a scam"), never the message itself.

When you ask for help

If you choose "Send to Nate" or "Send this to Nate", the app opens your own email app with a message already filled in. Nothing is sent until you press Send yourself. The message can include:

  • Your name and how to reach you, if you typed them
  • Your description of the problem, and the troubleshooting steps you tried in the app
  • If you leave "Include my system report" checked (Windows only): your PC's make, model and serial number, its specs, the latest health check, network details (such as IP addresses), programs installed in the last 30 days, recent Windows error messages, and errors the app ran into

The system report never includes your files, photos, passwords or browsing history. You can see exactly what's in it on the Get help page before sending, and you can uncheck the box to leave it out.

On Windows, the full report is copied to your clipboard so you can paste it into the email. It's marked so Windows doesn't keep it in clipboard history or sync it to your other devices.

How we use what you send

  • Only to answer your request and fix your problem.
  • It stays in our business email and isn't sold, rented or shared with anyone, except if the law requires it.
  • We keep it only as long as it's useful for helping you. Email [email protected] any time to ask us to delete your messages.

Internet connections the apps make

  • Internet check (Windows): the health check loads a small test page from Microsoft (msftconnecttest.com), the same one Windows itself uses to see if you're online.
  • Microsoft Store (Windows): the app asks the Microsoft Store which add-ons you own, and the Store handles any purchases. Microsoft's privacy statement covers that.
  • "Update all my apps" (Windows): uses Windows' built-in app updater (winget), which downloads updates from each app's publisher.
  • Links and settings: buttons such as "Run a speed test" or "Book a visit" open the website in your browser. That website's own privacy policy applies.

The apps don't send your information to NateFixesTech or anyone else in the background.

Payments

Add-ons for the Windows app are bought through the Microsoft Store. Microsoft processes the payment, and NateFixesTech never sees your card or bank details.

Children

The apps aren't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects what information leaves your device, we'll say so in the app's update notes.
